Prepares students for entry-level employment as phlebotomists within hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, medical clinics, donor centers, and physicians’ offices. Students develop professional skills in specimen handling, workflow coordination, and venipuncture safety parameters.

Phlebotomy Technician

In-person training

Auburn, Massachusetts

The Phlebotomy Technician Program consists of 160 total clock hours, including 120 classroom and laboratory instructional hours and 40 supervised clinical internship hours completed at a designated clinical site assigned to students by Britesticks Medicals LLC. Students attend five (5) days per week for four (4) instructional hours per day over an eight-week period.

Britesticks’ curriculum will prepare students to sit for national certification exams through organizations such as the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

Students are responsible for any additional fees related to missed or repeat NHA exams.

Upon completion

Upon completion of the course, students will receive a certificate of completion and will be eligible to sit for the NHA exam.

Applicants must meet the following requirements, subject to applicable program and clinical-site policies:

Hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
Provide evidence of an annual physical examination.
Provide documentation of immunity to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), varicella, and hepatitis B, as required.
Provide a negative COVID-19 test if required by the applicable program or clinical-site policy.
Provide proof of medical insurance.
Complete applicable background screening and clinical documentation requirements.

Authorization notice. Phlebotomy and Clinical Medical Assistant program availability and enrollment are subject to applicable Massachusetts authorization. Program details will be updated when the required approvals are in place.

The Clinical Medical Assistant Program consists of 780 total clock hours, including 300 classroom lecture hours, 320 laboratory instruction hours, and 160 supervised clinical internship hours completed at a designated clinical site assigned to students by Britesticks Medicals LLC, delivered over 24 weeks, Monday through Friday, 6.5 instructional hours per day.

Upon completion

Upon completion of the course, students will receive a certificate of completion and will be eligible to sit for the NHA exam.

To be officially considered for admission to any program, applicants must fulfill the following mandatory entrance requirements prior to being accepted into the school:

High school diploma or its recognized equivalent
Minimum age of 18 years
Demonstrated English proficiency
Proof of a negative PPD reading or a normal chest X-ray within the past 2 months
Current physical examination (not more than 2 years old)
Completed Hepatitis B vaccination series
